VLRNT Crosshair
Valorant crosshair settings explained
The Crosshair tab in Valorant has dozens of options, and most of them only change how the crosshair looks. This guide explains every option in plain words, with the ranges the crosshair generator works with and the values the game starts from. Everything here is also what is stored in a crosshair code.
The tabs: General, Primary, Aim Down Sights, Sniper
The Primary crosshair is the one you see most of the time. Aim Down Sights (ADS) can have its own crosshair for when you zoom in with a weapon that has a scope or sights, and Sniper has one for scoped sniper rifles. In the General tab you choose whether those extra crosshairs are used at all. In the generator the ADS and Sniper tabs switch on with Advanced options.
Color, outlines and center dot
| Setting | What it does | Range / default |
|---|---|---|
| Crosshair color | The color of the lines and the dot. Eight presets (white, green, yellow green, green yellow, yellow, cyan, pink, red) or any custom color from a hex value. | Default: white |
| Outlines | A dark border around every line and the dot, so the crosshair stays readable on bright or busy backgrounds. | On by default |
| Outline opacity | How strong that border is. At 0 it is invisible. | 0 to 1, default 0.5 |
| Outline thickness | How many pixels wide the border is. | 1 to 6, default 1 |
| Center dot | A single dot exactly at the aiming point, with or without lines around it. | Off by default |
| Center dot opacity | How solid the dot is. | 0 to 1, default 1 |
| Center dot thickness | The size of the dot in pixels. | 1 to 6 |
Inner lines and outer lines
A Valorant crosshair can draw two sets of four lines (left, right, up and down), called the inner lines and the outer lines. Each set has the same options:
| Setting | What it does | Range |
|---|---|---|
| Show lines | Switches the whole set on or off. A dot-only crosshair has both sets off. | On / off |
| Opacity | How solid the lines are. | 0 to 1 |
| Length | How long each line is. The game can set the horizontal and the vertical length separately (the chain icon next to the slider). | 0 to 20 |
| Thickness | How wide each line is. | 0 to 10 |
| Offset (gap) | The distance between the center of the screen and the start of the lines. A big offset keeps the target visible; 0 closes the gap. | 0 to 20 |
| Movement error | Spreads the lines apart while you move, so you can see when you are not accurate. | On / off |
| Movement error multiplier | How much the lines spread when you move. | 0 to 3 |
| Firing error | Spreads the lines apart while you shoot. | On / off |
| Firing error multiplier | How much the lines spread when you shoot. | 0 to 3 |
The default crosshair uses the inner lines (6 long, 2 thick, 3 offset, 0.8 opacity) and a faint set of outer lines (2 long, 2 thick, 10 offset, 0.35 opacity). Many players switch the outer lines off, switch movement and firing error off for a calmer crosshair, or turn the inner lines off for a dot-only crosshair.
The three switches at the top
- Fade crosshair with firing error. The crosshair gets fainter while the lines spread apart because of firing error.
- Override firing error offset with crosshair offset. The lines spread from your own offset instead of the game's.
- Override all primary crosshairs with my primary crosshair. Some weapons come with a crosshair of their own, such as shotguns. Switching this on makes every weapon use your primary crosshair instead.
Start from a crosshair that works
You do not have to set everything by hand. Open a pro player's crosshair from the player list, copy its code, and change only what you like in the generator. Or browse by look: dot only, thin, no outline, cyan. The guide to choosing a crosshair helps you decide.
Frequently asked questions
What is the offset of a Valorant crosshair?
The offset (also called gap) is the empty space between the center of the screen and the start of the lines. A larger offset leaves more of the target visible; an offset of 0 makes the lines meet at the aiming point.
What is the difference between inner and outer lines?
They are two separate sets of lines with their own opacity, length, thickness and offset. Inner lines sit close to the center. Outer lines sit further out and, in the default crosshair, are the lines that react to movement and shooting.
What does firing error do?
With firing error switched on, the lines spread apart while you shoot, which shows how much the shots can stray. Switched off, the lines stay still. The multiplier makes the spread bigger or smaller.
Do outlines change how the crosshair works?
No. Outlines only draw a dark border around the crosshair so it stays visible on bright backgrounds. They change how it looks, not where the bullets go.
Can I use a different crosshair when I aim down sights?
Yes. The Aim Down Sights tab has its own crosshair, and the Sniper tab has one for scoped sniper rifles. A crosshair code can carry all three.
